What tutoring adds
Drawings, number lines, place-value models, and everyday examples help students connect symbols to quantities before relying on a procedure.
Students practice a manageable set of problems, explain their choices, and learn simple ways to check whether an answer makes sense.
Sessions can address an immediate assignment while also repairing the number-sense or arithmetic gap that made it difficult.
